How I became interested in my area of study/research/discipline:
A huge goal of mine growing up was to choose or find a career that I would enjoy. I love playing sports and competition and can not think of another profession where I would have as much fun going to work everyday.

Someone I admire:
Jerry Bridges is an author who practices what he preaches. He is an amazing man of God who has impacted my spiritual growth through his books and sermons. He is a gifted teacher who focuses on the Gospel and the truth of the Bible.

Most favorite/least favorite memory as a student:
My favorite memory as a student was the South Central Regional rowing regatta my freshman year of college. It was amazing how the nine girls in our boat loved and respected each other and came together each time we raced. We worked hard and it was such a rewarding way to finish the season.

An important life lesson I have learned:
That my life is only rewarding and fulfilling if I am living for God’s glory. My own works, achievements or recognition can not sustain me because worldly things are not eternal. There is so much peace and freedom in Christ. If my motivation to succeed is not out of my desire to love and obey God, my work is meaningless.

A favorite quote or saying:
Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
– 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

This is my favorite Bible verse because it conveys how I want to live my life. I desire to have a joyful attitude in all that I do because God has ordained that situation for His glory. Romans 8:28 says that God works for the good of those who love Him, therefore I can trust that even in tough times, God is working for good and I can rejoice in that.

My hopes for the world:
That every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.
